Artist's Statement:

I am a plein air painter. I paint with oil and gouache. 

I received most of my formal art training from various instructors at Beverly Street Studio School in Staunton, VA.  But I have found the practice of painting frequently, often with the fellowship of like-minded artists, has also been enlightening.  I love to spend extended time painting, especially on plein air trips with friends. The more I paint, the more the colors become familiar tools. Virginia and North Carolina provide a never-ending source of beauty and subject, and through painting, I attempt to capture local beauty for others to see and experience.
