Artist's Statement

My creative passion came easily, powerfully and directly from my artist mother who found beauty everywhere and wanted to surround herself always with it. How could a child not be seduced by rose and pink and lilac flower beds and glittering paintings and singular style, and always looking around for traces of her, and her lessons? 

For most of my life, I have been an artist, working in oils and clay, anything I could turn my hand to. I have written three children’s books about a naughty little dragon named Filibert who hailed from the mountains of Elderberry, a faraway land. These stories are available on Amazon Books as well as Barnes & Noble. My sculptures are featured and sold Saatchi Art.   

My painting style is distinctively romantic with feathery touches and the thick impasto of the pallet knife and quick brush work to add energy and vivacity to the composition. 

When sculpting I work painstakingly to add a warm touch of the hand when molding the clay and then finishing each time I am working to create a unique, sometimes surprising piece. The entire process takes months to complete.
