Jose Williams states that his creative process is from the power of God. He believes art is everywhere. When he was a young child, he would watch his grandmother make quilts; since that time, Jose has been able to design quilts. A similar idea came from his grandfather picking cotton — the idea of a cotton sack turned into a wall hanging with designs on it.
Jose thinks that ”art for art’s sake” is an invalid concept. He believes that all art reflects the value system from which it comes. His art is both form and feeling, but more feeling than form.
Jose says, “Thinking is the source of ideas for all work of art. Of course one must have the skill and the power of God.”
