This soft study in lavender lends a romantic mood to any space giving one the suggestion of being in a garden. Loose delicate brush strokes create the effect of blossoms finishing while others seem as if just coming into bloom.

Artist's Statement:

Creative passion came easily, powerfully and directly from my artist mother who found beauty everywhere and wanted to surround herself with it. How could a child not be seduced by rose and pink and lilac flower beds and glittering paintings and singular style, and always looking around for traces of her, and her lessons?

For most of my life, I have been an artist, working in oils and clay, anything I could turn my hand to. I have written three children’s books about a naughty little dragon named Filibert who hailed from the mountains of Elderberry, a faraway land. These stories are available on Amazon Books as well as Barnes & Noble. My sculptures can be found on Saatchi Art.

“The Cardinal” and “The Gentleman” are rendered in high-fire clay and finished in a sparkling white glaze. Each imparts a sense of character and substance and beauty to any space it graces.

My sculpted figures are painstakingly crafted. The warm touch of hand molding and then the finishing of the clay each time yields a unique, sometimes surprising piece. The entire process takes months to complete.
