This piece is inspired by my time living near the Bayous of the Gulf Coast. Having moved all over the US, I am inspired by the bright colors and animals of the biome. There is something alluring about the swamp and the animals (and folks) that live there and how they cohabitate. I hope to create an interesting and mysterious narrative.

Artist's Statement:

My work harmonizes a personal interpretation of self, and the connection we have with our environments through natural or man-made structures. This harmonization expresses feelings on environmentalism, and memories we hold with a home. Creating these pieces methodically with great thought to organic form and color scheme, there is the technique of layering ingrained in my work that allows for distortion. Due to abstraction, the concepts of doubles, morphing, and natural growth all accumulate together.
