Marti Fann, a native of northwest Pennsylvania, has resided in Chesterfield, Virginia, for the last 34 years. Marti has lived and traveled in the southwest, living in Tucson, Arizona, for 12 years. She studied with local artists in the southwest and continued to attend workshops with nationally known artists.
“I have always loved the creative process. I want the painting to evolve from a clean white surface to a well-designed painting. From the workshops I took away a new way of looking at everything. My primary purpose of painting is to evoke feelings and emotions. I want to do this though texture, color, shape, and good design. If I am successful, you can let yourself go and let the energy and spirit of the painting carry you on an exciting journey.”
Marti’s pieces have been exhibited in the Virginia Watercolor Society exhibitions and numerous central Virginia art shows, where the work has received many awards and honors. Her work is predominantly in acrylic, collage, and mixed media.
