Artist Statement

Mehran Rashidfarokhy is an impressionist painter working primarily in oil and gouache. His work reflects an intimate dialogue between emotion and environment, capturing the transient moods of daily life and the quiet beauty of nature. Through expressive brushwork and subtle color harmony, Mehran invites viewers to share in the sensory and emotional depth of his cityscapes and landscapes.

Biography

Born in Tehran, Iran, in 1960, Mehran comes from a distinguished Persian family of artists. His uncles, Anoush and Majid, are both renowned painters based in the United States and Germany. Inspired by his family’s artistic legacy, Mehran’s passion for painting began at an early age. “I was mesmerized by the beauty of my uncle Anoosh’s work, which adorned the walls of his beautiful home,” he recalls.

Now based in the United States, Mehran continues to refine his craft, exploring the interplay between light, emotion, and the natural world. His work reflects both his Persian roots and his contemporary perspective, blending tradition and modern impressionism with grace and sensitivity.
