The quintessential childhood experience is exploration. This painting captures my sons and a friend as they traverse rocks along the rivers edge to get a better look at a jellyfish just beneath. Or a group of minnows. Or a turtle. They made many stories that day.
Artist's Statement:
There are many grand things, people, and places in this world. Often times we overlook the little things that don't seem as memorable in comparison to these grand things. In elevating these seemingly unimportant things, I seek to evoke a memory, a personal recall of the viewer's experiences.
I am a representation oil painter. When I am not painting or sketching, I am chasing around 3 boys and their dogs, reading, or boating the river and bay.
