While visiting my son in California, we traveled north to Monterey and decided to head east to Fresno. We discovered growing fields full of tomatoes…mile after mile… with the majestic Sierra Nevada as a background. The green, red and orange colors were my inspiration for this picturesque scene.

Artist's Statement:

As an artist, my work leans towards figurative art, and in some cases, it can be categorized as alla prima brush work or impressionism. I attribute this to my spontaneous depiction of the subject matter that to the passing eyes may only record it as a blur. My objective is to capture these fleeting moments for others to witness and enjoy.

I believe art should not only be decorative but also tell a story…to educate and stimulate the viewer. The spectator should never stop learning with unexpected wonder and enjoyment.
