As communities grow, change and repurpose deserted warehouses and former manufacturing facilities, graffiti art often accompanies the time between a building losing its old purpose and transitioning to its new life. This piece represents a series of works capturing graffiti art that is now lost.
Artist Statement:
With a focus on photography and printmaking, I have directed my most recent works between the two disciplines. In addition to traditional fine art photography, I began exploring and further developing a print-making technique I refer to as Progressive Frame Imaging (PFI). In its simplest definition, PFI is a multi-layer, ink-over-ink print making process not dissimilar to that of lithography, wood block or silk-screen printing. With Progressive Frame Imaging, digital printers replace the ink transfer mediums of stone, wood or screen.
