Ruchi grew up on a math-science track of study in India and worked in technology for 10 years before recognizing that that she has to relent to an inner voice that needed expression through creating and making.
In 2008 after her son was born she started taking classes in clay. This amazing new world of creativity opened up a little window in her. She kept going with the flow, learning, exploring, creating, finding her way through clay.
For her inspiration is everywhere - architecture, colors, textiles, seasons, books, words, symbols, cultures, history, mythology... the list keep getting longer.
Ruchi designs and creates in her home studio with three kilns and two assistant artists in Richmond, Va.
