When the temperatures begin to warm and the angle of the light changes to cast shadows ever so slightly, you know that spring has arrived. The vivid colors of the japonica and forsythia are among the first heralds to announce that it’s time to awake and start anew.

Artist's Statement:

Don Barnett’s unique style of art blends line-work with vivid colors using oil/watercolor/gouache paint, and occasionally oil pastels. Lines don’t always follow a linear pattern and colors are often exaggerated resulting in a lively expressiveness. Primary sources of Don’s inspiration comes through travel and other experiences and observations as he strives to bring life to recognizable shapes and forms that are all too often unobserved and taken for granted.
