Acrylic Finishes on Lathe Turned and Carved Siberian Elm
$695
The creation of this vessel was inspired by a lily bud that was beginning to open. The Siberian Elm was turned on a lathe then carved and embellished. The paint and clear finish are acrylic.
Artist Statement:
My woodturning adventure began back in 2012 and over time my skills have improved and I have developed my own creative style. I primarily create lathe turned hollow and open forms in wood from native Virginia trees. I try to work with wood from trees that were felled by a storm, disease or for safety reasons. I like to embellish my work with various carving techniques, coloring and wood burning. Though the trees I work with are no longer living they still live on in my creations.
