Artist's Statement:
I have been making high fired pottery in Richmond for over 40 years. My functional stoneware and porcelain pottery is fired in a gas kiln and glazed in subtle tones and designs.
Recently retired from running the 43rd Street Gallery, I am enjoying working at a slower pace and creating some new work focusing on surface decoration and glaze application. Recently, I have turned my attention to using a Porcelain clay body. I am now exploring the forms and glazes that fit this beautiful clay body and how the new surface provides a palate for new designs. I have always strived to have my work express a sense of harmony and peace. It is important to me that my pottery enriches the daily life of the beholder.
