Evening in January
This work by Armand Cabrera shows a working farm in the valley.  Four silos for holding grain, and a house beyond, indicate the large scale of the farm.   Tracks in the snow leading to the silos show that work does not stop when snow falls.  Trucks or tractors are busy hauling hay for the livestock, which cannot get to the snow covered grass for their sustenance.
Evening in January hints at the farm work which still needs to be done in the winter, when one would think farmers are having a break!

Evening in January indicates that twilight is near.  The sun is low in the sky, and casts its glow over the hills from the left, onto the hills on the right.  The foreground, where the viewer stands, is getting dark.  It is a beautiful time of day, when one can readily see night coming and daylight escaping.Colors are warm and toasty mustard and browns where sunlight is cast, and colder gray in the foreground where light is leaving.
Placement
Evening in January is a piece to hang in a cozy nook, in a room you will be frequenting in the fall and winter seasons such as a library, den, or family room.  See suggestions of fabrics, in the accompanying images, to complement Evening in January.
