This image depicts the instant that a great blue heron's beak pierces the absolutely still surface of a pond. The still water reflects the blue sky above.
Artist's Statement:
My photography is guided by a deep respect and love for the quiet power and beauty of the natural world. Whether capturing the fleeting movement of wildlife, the intricate geometry of a flower, or the drama of light breaking through darkness, I strive to create images that are both immediate and timeless.
I see the camera not only as a tool of documentation but also as a way to invite reflection. Each image is an attempt to reveal a moment that might otherwise be overlooked—a gesture, a rhythm, or a subtle play of light—that reminds us of our connection to the living world.
I aim to balance technical precision with a painterly sensibility. I often draw on traditional principles of composition and tonal contrast, while leaving space for the viewer’s imagination. Ultimately, I hope that my work reflects the peace I find in inhabiting and examining the natural world, and that my love for nature translates to the viewer.
