This is one of the 3 pieces I selected for this show because a swallowtail feeds on coneflower and phlox at the height of the garden, a small guest at a table of plenty.

Artist's Statement:

I am a fine artist and photographer new to the Richmond, Virginia area. I have recently returned to active exhibitions after a period away developing new collections and pursuing a wider display of paintings and photos. Drawn to color and nature, my paintings explore the fluid, unpredictable delight of acrylic pour techniques alongside mixed-media work that incorporates fabric, texture, photography, and found materials. I have displayed and sold works at Del Ray Gallery, and the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA, Maryland Fine Arts, in Annapolis, and have exhibited at Falls Church, VA Arts Gallery, Reston, VA library and other smaller venues. My work keeps returning to the florals and landscapes of the places that stay with me: From the endless, spectacular florals and scapes of Virginia to the coasts of Maine, North Carolina, California, and Ireland. I call my art Visual Escapes because I believe art can trigger joy, passion, new perspectives, and thoughts unique to each of us. This becomes a welcome escape from the routine of everyday life. I think we need art to survive! I look forward to sharing my Visual Escapes with Richmond art enthusiasts.
