Artist's Statement:

My art is inspired by Nature and what I call the visions of the inner eye. The desire to create has been a lifelong passion to give physical expression to my imagination and to create art that encourages a greater appreciation for Earth and an awareness of the wonder and mystery that surrounds us.

I work in abstraction often blended with elements of realism. My creative process is one of intention and discovery. This balance between the intended and the intuitive use of color, texture, form, and technique allows me the freedom to develop images as originally inspired or to innovate as needed to fully express my vision.

Born in Richmond, Virginia, I grew up near the banks of the James River, between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. I developed a strong interest in both art and Nature at an early age, and they have always played a central role in my life. Art and the making of art have given me much peace, joy, and a special awareness and appreciation of life, gifts that I wish to share with others.
