The Hanged Man is a reference to the Tarot character, but purposefully making the figure gender ambiguous and surrealistic. I focus on making figures this way so anyone can identify to the connection with nature that is portrayed through this piece.

Artist's Statement:

My work harmonizes a personal interpretation of self, and the connection we have with our environments through natural or man-made structures. This harmonization expresses feelings on environmentalism, and memories we hold with a home. Creating these pieces methodically with great thought to organic form and color scheme, there is the technique of layering ingrained in my work that allows for distortion. Due to abstraction, the concepts of doubles, morphing, and natural growth all accumulate together.
