My mother was a Yaqui Native American.  Being from

the Southwest, and having Native American roots, I tend to love the bright colors traditionally used in the region.  Many of my pieces represent my Arizona heritage.  I typically use oils because they are workable which allows me to experiment and update my painting’s composition as I go and as I see the need for change to the original plan.  The symbols I use in my paintings are general representations typically used by Native Americans in their art.
