The streaming of light through the tall windows in this Coffeehouse in Richmond illuminates the various types of activity in our world today that constitutes conversation. Whether it be virtual or face-to face, connection is key.

Artist Statement:

Finding that the world can be transformed by the ephemeral beauty of light, my challenge is to capture that fleeting moment. Often returning to the same subject, I find each rendition reflects a particular moment. History informs the present and echoes of the past are forever evident. Whether it be a striking Carolina barn reduced to a skeletal frame upon a second visit or coastal cliffs suddenly erased due to climate change, my paintings aim to preserve a moment. By doing so, the viewer will have indisputable evidence of what was and what will be.
