This painting evolved after a late Winter walk on Stanford Moor, an ancient moorland in Derbyshire, home of a stone circle called the nine ladies.

Artist Statement:

I am an English artist currently living in Virginia.I grew up in The Peak District in Derbyshire and many of my paintings reflect the English countryside.I paint in oil and watercolor and often using heavy impasto to capture the essence of the landscapes I love. I also paint as we travel extensively in Europe and the United States.
