Artist's Statement:
The media I’m most familiar with is oils, and next in line is graphite. I learned portraiture in oils from Harry Fredman Studios in Kansas City in the 1980s. I ventured into oil & wax and a more abstract/impressionist style while taking art lessons from artist Carol Gruppe at the Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center.
Carol challenges her students to I continue my journey from portraiture and realism into a looser style into the natural world of landscapes, yard and garden flowers and skies.
