When I saw this Disney Princess pink and purple doll house for sale on Facebook market place, I was struck by the idea that it could be transformed into an undersea castle. I spent a year and a half in my spare time finding objects, making furniture and accessories, and painting the dollhouse to create original dioramas within its walls.

Artist Statement:

I am passionate about the beauty of nature. It feeds my soul. I’m happiest outside in nature painting, kayaking, or hiking. My acrylic paintings are an expression of my connection to the places I paint. In 2008, I moved to the US Virgin Islands where I painted, snorkeled, kayaked, sailed, and fire danced for nine years. Living in the bright light of the tropics feed my obsession with color. Back in Virginia in my studio in Reedville, I am again surrounded by inspiring landscapes. In my paintings I use my love of color to express the beauty I see around me. I paint scenes from the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and the nearby rural farming communities. I am always pushing to find my creative voice and expressing it loudly with paint.
