If this door could talk. Through doors like this one at Fort Monroe, VA the first Black Africans to set foot on American soil in 1619. Through the Revolutonary and American Civil War these doors continued to tell stories as now reflected in their textural stand.

Artist's Statement:

With a focus on photography and mixed-media printmaking, I have directed my most recent works toward combining the two disciplines. In addition to traditional fine art photography, I began exploring and further developing a print-making technique I refer to as Progressive Frame Imaging (PFI). In its simplest definition, PFI is a multi-layer, ink-over-ink print making process not dissimilar to that of lithography, wood block or silk-screen printing. With Progressive Frame Imaging, digital printers replace the ink transfer mediums of stone, wood or screen.
