Baha Omary Kikhia
Baha Omary Kikhia was born and raised in Damascus, Syria, and studied Fine Arts at the University of Damascus and the University of Baghdad. She was the student of renowned artists Faith Al Muddaress and Fariq Hassan.
Early in her career, Baha moved to New York City, where she exhibited in private galleries and at the United Nations. Her work has also been exhibited globally, included in London, Paris, Washington D.C., Brussels, and Dubai.
Baha’s continuous, bold lines embody the fluid dance of joy and pain. Her depiction of ancient cities, landscapes, and social gatherings is distinguished by its sensuous aura, vibrant colors, and the commanding presence of the feminine. Baha often pays homage to the great cities of the Middle East and North Ameirca, particularly Damascus, Baghdad, and Jerusalem, each having a profound impact on her childhood and identity.
