"Urban Garden" is based on a deep appreciation of any lush garden spaces to be found in the concrete jungle of New York City, and a closely-held memory of growing green things in the city being one of the small wholesome beacons of hope for many during the height of the pandemic years.

Artist's Statement:

Through fiber art I seek most to explore the theme of connection, particularly our connection to nature and the land around us, as well as to each other in community. I aim to create lush, textured pieces that momentarily pull someone out of our overwhelmingly digital world and into little moments of feeling the forest around you, or the endurance of a community binding its wounds, or running your hand through vines trailing over the edge of a city balcony.
