Convergence shows the heavy emotional weight of our troubled world. Yet, inside this chaos lies a quiet strength. Broken pieces do not break apart completely. They come together. This shows that connection is still alive, and fresh hope can grow even during hard times.
Artist's Statement:
My drawings translate the language of movement into layered abstract compositions that emerge through intuition, gesture, and repetition. Drawing from my background in dance, I approach each work as a choreography of marks, where movement unfolds through the interplay of color, line, and form. Saturated color and intricate networks of marks become a visual language through which rhythm, memory, and spatial experience are explored.
Working with pencil, pastel, and ink on paper, I begin with spontaneous gestures that move freely across the surface. Through a process of layering, revision, and erasure, these marks evolve into complex structures in which texture, form, and space continuously shift and transform. Erasure functions not as a corrective measure, but as an essential act of creation—revealing new possibilities while preserving the history of the drawing.
Although rooted in the vocabulary of dance, my work does not illustrate movement; it embodies it. The drawings invite sustained looking, unfolding gradually through shifting relationships of gesture, color, and space. Through this process, I seek to translate the ephemeral qualities of movement into a visual experience that reflects perception, memory, and becoming. This practice continues my lifelong exploration of movement as a fundamental language of human experience.
