Janine Orr

After an extensive and successful design career, Janine felt it was time to rediscover her love of painting. She has focused on expressing herself in oils and exploring the beauty, color, and light in contemporary and representative landscape paintings and floral still life.

Janine’s formal training includes studying drawing, painting, and print-making at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her design career began as a successful magazine illustrator and art director, followed by 24 years as sole proprietor of an award-winning publication design firm in Washington, D.C.

“My artistic abilities served me well during my commercial publishing career, but eventually the only artistic tool I ever used was a Mac! This encouraged me to return to painting and begin a new artistic journey.”

Janine works in oils on panel, linen, or canvas using traditional materials and methods. She embraces her art journey as a never-ending learning experience filled with experimentation and growth.

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, and later Arlington, Virginia, Janine now resides in Richmond, Virginia with her husband, Frank Finn.
