Janine Orr earned a BA in fine arts from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she studied drawing, painting, and print-making. In her early career, she was a successful magazine illustrator and art director. Later, she owned and operated an award-winning publication design firm in Washington, D.C. for 24 years.
“My artistic abilities served me well during my commercial publishing career, but eventually the only artistic tool I ever held in my hands was a Mac! Then, several years ago, I returned to painting and began a new artistic journey.”
Janine has studied oil painting with several prominent artists including Qiang Huang, Derek Penix and online workshops with David Leffel. She works in oils on panel, linen, or canvas, is always experimenting, and continuing the art journey. She embraces painting as a never-ending learning experience.
