Julie Dyer Holmes
Julie Dyer Holmes is a classically trained oil and acrylic fine art painter. Her home studio is based in Raleigh, NC. And, she has a mobile studio: a tiny camper affectionately named Lola.
From Lola, Holmes captures painterly moments shaped by light, weather, and place. Her views include the coast and rolling valleys of Virginia and continue north through New England, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland. These small gems from the road stand on their own as framed artworks. And, they are seeds for larger painting ideas Holmes completes in her home studio.
Each week since 2020, Holmes writes about her painting journey and shares insights from the studio and the road. Her work is in collections in the United States, Canada, and Europe. At the heart of her practice is a love of connection. And, she treasures hearing when a painting finds its way into a viewer’s life, heart, and home.
