Linda Shaw

ARTIST STATEMENT
Linda Shaw is both a studio and a plein air painter working primarily in oils. Her work is derived
from a wide array of subject matter – landscape, portrait, and everything in between. Linda’s
style is expressionistic yet maintains a representational quality. Her creative process is founded
on the visual artist’s unique work flow: eyes, brain, heart, and hand. The process is a dance
between control and relinquishing control. She employs dynamic brushwork and soft edges,
intentionally leaving a doorway for others to engage with her work. Linda believes that art has
the power to touch people on the deepest human level. Sharing art feeds the soul, providing
nourishment for the artist, admirer, and collector.
