This piece was created for February, a month where love and loss quietly intertwine in my life. The passing of my mother five years ago during this time transformed grief into a lasting reflection of love—one that does not fade, but deepens with time. This work holds that truth: grief is not the absence of love, but its continuation.

紫 (むらさき) Murasaki, the Japanese word for purple, symbolizes wisdom, dignity, and emotional depth. Its layered hues mirror the way love remains after loss—heavy yet tender, restrained yet enduring. The repeating patterns echo memory and connection, reminding us that love does not end; it repeats, reshapes, and finds new ways to exist.
