I painted New Horizons with a combination of oil paint, cold wax, graphite and oil pastel
on a birch panel. Rather than starting with a concept, my process is organic and
improvisational so sometimes, as in this instance, it’s difficult to narrow the inspiration as
coming from one specific source. But broadly nature, the human animal, the human
psyche and these interrelations are always at the heart of my work.
