I found a mostly intact guitar body on the side of the road one day and took it home. I knew I wanted to make it a painting with more 3D elements, so I used leftover objects from past projects. I wanted to give it a sort of trashy queen rocker vibe. Using a lace table cloth for the backing and fringe ties the whole piece together.

Artist Statement:

My practice creates objects of tension and exposure. The vibrancy of color in my work augments an intense emotion that feeds into tension that is already found in the piece. My goal is to create an atmosphere that makes you feel as if you were at a party and the lights have just been turned on. I believe that this represents society today where you are thrown into unexpected messes and you either learn to roll with it or get swept up in the mess.
