I am a plein air painter who loves to paint in the VMFA Sculpture Garden.  The atmosphere in the VMFA Sculpture Garden is very peaceful and extremely conducive towards painting.  It is my favorite place to paint and I have painted the Lady of the Sea more than once and it is always enjoyable to find different ways to see the same thing.  My medium of choice is alkyd paint, which is quick drying oil paint.  

Artist Statement: 

My focus is plein air painting and my favorite location is the VMFA Sculpture Garden.  Color, changing light and imagination make for an endless variety of results in my paintings.  During my years of painting here I have painted most of the pieces of sculpture at least twice.  My most popular subject is Dale Chihuly's Red Reeds.  My work is on display and for sale every year in the Fan Art Stroll.
