Creating is as essential to me as breathing. One of the joys of my life has been to explore new avenues of being creative. I began my career as a professional actress in New York in the late 50’s, was twice a college professor, ordained as an Episcopal priest in DC in the ‘70’s, and upon retirement in 2001 have explored being creative in drawing, jewelry making, pouring paint, needlepoint, gold thread embroidery, knitting, and now fused glass. I have found that through entering the vulnerability and uncertainty of creating, I have been renewed, enriched, and made whole. I recommend the process of creative exploration to everyone. You don’t have “to be able to draw a straight line” to be creative. You just need to take the risk and to enjoy playing.
