Bless the Kitties, for Cats Snakes
Prisma Colors on Stonehenge paper
22 x 30", Framed: 26 x 33 x 2"
This piece reflects my love for kitties and mediates my fear of snakes through the remembrance that snakes are historically known as healers in ancient Egypt and Greece, ala the caduceus.
I am an Arlington VA born and bred artist who has been living and making art in Richmond, VA for the past 50 years. A former member of the Richmond Women's Caucus for Art and Art6 Gallery, I have shown and sold my work in Richmond and various locales around VA. I am currently working in mixed media with cold wax and oil on birch panels, but have enjoyed extensively painting in acrylics on canvas. Much of my work has been likened to Chagall, and though I've learned much from viewing his work, I claim my own unique perspective. A dedicated cat (and dog and animal) lover, much of my work reflects that love and I am particularly interested in inter species love.
