A friend visited Greece earlier this year and returned with many mementos, including photos of their visit. I immediately was inspired by an image of a cave they discovered along the Aegean Sea. The roughness of the cliff formation contrasted nicely with the still turquoise water.

Artist's Statement:

As an artist, my work leans towards figurative art, and in some cases, it can be categorized as alla prima brush work or impressionism. I attribute this to my spontaneous depiction of the subject matter that to the passing eyes may only record it as a blur. My objective is to capture these fleeting moments for others to witness and enjoy.

I believe art should not only be decorative but also tell a story…to educate and stimulate the viewer. The spectator should never stop learning with unexpected wonder and enjoyment.
