Hot Air Balloons float across the sky as the Native/Island woman patiently waits for the children to arrive for their violin lessons, which she will teach, on the beach. Several local children have already arrived on foot and in anticipation, they happily wait for the arrival of other children that are traveling by balloon and boat.

Artist's Statement:

I am from a family of quilters and was drawn to my roots in beautiful, scenic Caroline County, Virginia, where I was born and grew up. From geometric design to today's modern concepts, I have a wealth of ideas uniquely expressing my thoughts of nature and people. My distinctive style incorporates bold colors and intricate patters creating immersive pieces that encourage personal reflection and dialogue.  Am known in quilting circles and have exhibited in several places in Virginia, in 2026; PAAL in Petersburg, Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton, Crossroads Art Center. Also in 2025, displayed at  Black Iris Gallery, Virginia State Library in Richmond, State Fair of Virginia in Doswell,  PAAL in Petersburg, Virginia Quilt Museum in Dayton. Arts in the Park 2023 & 2024 Richmond, VA. Most recent publication is located in Folk Art Museum - Summer 2025 and Progress Index in 2020.
