Starting in 1990 The Hubble Space Telescope sent us amazing photos of our Universe. These photos inspired me to do a series of watercolors primarily focused on galaxies and nebulas. The wonderment of colors, depth and movement guided my creation of these paintings.
Artist's Statement:
I work as a watercolor artist in Richmond, Virginia .
Moments found in nature, infostructure, the universe and my mind’s eye are the sources for my work. After preliminary study I work with multiple glazes permitting the variety of colors to capture the essence of my intent. My aesthetic could be labeled Lyrical Observation.
Exploring the subtle and kinetic energies that permeate everything and using the magic of watercolor I strive to to capture the moment. This, combined with my love of color, light, shadow and the watercolor drives my creative process.
Drawing, and coloring have been with me since childhood. There have been times of dormancy that then bring a rejuvenation. It is the creating and sharing of my ongoing artistic journey that brings me joy.
