Artist's Statement:

Welcome to my Bio! My name is Dale Berry, and I’m a retired female, living in Mechanicsville, VA. Once I retired, I joined the Lee Artists Association in Mechanicsville and took watercolor and oil classes. Later I took watercolor classes at Crossroads Art Center and still use that knowledge today. I joined the Montpelier Center for Arts and Education and took several of Cheap Joe’s week-long workshops that boosted my talents. Then I joined James River Art League, and my art education was further enhanced with monthly meetings, field trips, demos, and camaraderie. I was the JRAL Publicity Chair for two terms, 2017-2021. I also joined Tuckahoe Art League and discovered a wonderful watercolorist! He has such an eye for design, color, and placement and is an expert at resurrecting paintings that seem hopeless. When covid hit in 2020, I joined the RVA Urban Sketchers with outdoor meetings. This group renewed my love for drawing/sketching. More recently I joined the Virginia Plein Air Painters and discovered that being outside enjoying nature while you create artwork can’t be beat. I’ve taken several oil and pastel classes, but I always return to my favorite medium, watercolor. I hope you enjoy my artwork.
